Grateful Baby A boyfriend who was absolutely insistent that his girlfriend abort, even after seeing their baby kicking and moving on the ultrasound screen, left our office mad at his girlfriend for deciding to keep their child. The next weekend, however, after attending a Grateful Dead concert, he showed up at her door and presented her with a tie-dyed onesie with the words "Grateful Baby" on the front of it. He had changed his mind!
In January of 2009, we received a call from a woman who wanted to abort and we were able to invite her for an ultrasound. The circumstances in her life prompted her to the abortion, but when she saw twins on the ultrasound she said: “I can’t kill them!” We are now helping her with resources and support, and she is so happy! The ultrasound picture to the right shows her twins. One baby is located on the left side, head down. The other baby is on the right, at an angle, with the head pointing down and left. In July of 2009, this client delivered her babies! She had healthy twins: a boy weighing 5 lbs., 13 oz. and a girl weighing 5 lbs., 5 oz. They are doing well, and the mother reports that she is so glad that she changed her mind about aborting. We continue to provide support for the family, offering car seats, cribs, referrals for practical assistance, and double the encouragement for Mom!In July of 2008 Birthchoice was able to help a client who had wanted to abort her baby. The staff helped her with resources and introduced her baby to her on the ultrasound screen. Before our clients leave our office, they are asked to fill out a comment form; here’s what she wrote:
“Everything was excellent, from the staff to the friendliness of everyone. I got to watch more about abortion and know what is going to take place. I wouldn’t change anything about this visit today. Thank you. A change of heart is strongly going through my head now. Birthchoice will most likely be the hero of my baby’s life.”
